Micrometal — Zinc Die Casting
The Company
MICROMETAL S.R.L., with over 30 years of experience, manufactures precision technical components in primary zinc alloys (Zamak) using hot chamber die casting and micro die casting for third parties, with a strong specialisation in the locks and automotive sectors. Research, Development, Innovation: three keywords that define Micrometal’s approach to work, as essential elements to optimise every process and achieve our ZERO DEFECT target — only possible when every stage of production is 100% controlled. Thanks to 3D prototyping, Micrometal’s involvement begins at the initial design stage and is carried out in close collaboration with the client. This is the only way for our Technical Department to receive the optimal input needed to prevent any complications related to typical die casting issues. Special attention is given to identifying optimal shapes and required draft angles, as well as verifying wall thickness feasibility. The positioning of gates, ejector pins, and overflow wells is carefully monitored and verified to ensure both the mechanical function of the finished part and the integrity of visible surfaces. Using the detailed drawings obtained from the previous stages, we create the mathematical model, enabling an accurate evaluation of the component and the preparation of an appropriate quotation aligned with the client’s requirements. Before delivering the finished product ready for assembly, Micrometal performs shot blasting or vibratory finishing operations (and thermal deburring for specific parts) — essential steps when surface finishes suitable for zinc alloys are required, such as painting or galvanic treatments. All internal production and external processing stages are carried out and recorded under our ISO 9001 certified quality management system.
Zamak Application Sectors
With a monthly production capacity of 75,000 kg of material produced through zinc alloy die casting (Zamak), Micrometal serves a wide range of industrial sectors.
