Training and People
15 employees · 95% permanent contracts · zero accidents · continuous training
People: the real Micrometal asset since 1991
At Micrometal, people are our most important asset. Behind the 11 zamak die casting machines, the quality control lines, and the lot traceability systems, there is a team of 15 qualified employees that constitutes the company’s operational know-how. We constantly invest in professional development through on-the-job training, external technical courses, and safety training, in line with our ISO 9001:2015 certification and the requirements of our most demanding customers.
With 95% of the workforce on permanent contracts, we build long-term relationships based on trust and mutual growth. The average company tenure exceeds 10 years and this allows us to accumulate and pass on the artisanal and technical knowledge typical of a family-owned manufacturing company in Brescia active since 1991.
Our commitment to workplace safety: zero accidents in five years
Safety is a non-negotiable value. In the last five years Micrometal recorded zero workplace accidents — a metric we are proud of, but one that requires daily commitment to maintain. The safety culture is structured on three operational pillars:
- Mandatory continuous training — every employee follows annual update modules according to D.Lgs. 81/08 (Italian Workplace Safety Code) for specific roles (die casting operator, maintenance technician, quality manager, etc.) with courses delivered by certified bodies.
- Adequate PPE and environments — full provision of personal protective equipment (goggles, gloves, safety shoes, fire-retardant clothing for operators near molten presses), industrial ventilation sized for fume extraction in zamak die casting, fire prevention systems, and emergency procedures tested every six months.
- Near-miss culture — structured reporting of near-miss events to identify and correct risk conditions before they generate real accidents.
The internal RSPP (Workplace Prevention and Protection Manager) coordinates with the company doctor on health surveillance plans and periodic risk assessments, in line with the company’s ESG strategy.
Continuous technical training: the Micrometal program
Zamak die casting requires highly specialized skills not learned in school: direct hands-on practice on machines, knowledge of EN 12844 ZP3, ZP5 and ZP2 alloys, process parameter management (temperatures, pressures, cycle times), preventive mold maintenance. Our technical training program is structured on four levels:
- Onboarding (weeks 1-4) — direct shadowing of a senior operator on a specific machine, product knowledge, quality flows, safety. Final competency test before operational autonomy.
- Annual technical training — modules on new technologies (e.g. 3D printing applied to die casting), regulatory updates, ISO 9001 audits, and cross-functional training between departments.
- Specialization — dedicated external courses on specific topics: mold filling simulation (MagmaSoft software or equivalent), advanced metrology on CMM, welding certification for mold makers.
- Managerial development — for leadership roles, paths on lean manufacturing, team management, budgeting, and key customer relations.

Corporate welfare and benefits
The Micrometal philosophy is clear: satisfied, motivated, and trained people produce quality parts. That’s why we have structured a corporate welfare program that goes beyond the Italian collective bargaining agreement CCNL Metalmeccanici, with practical benefits that improve employees’ quality of life:
- Performance bonus — annual bonus tied to production, quality, and safety targets shared with the team
- Meal vouchers — daily lunch break coverage
- Supplementary health insurance — coverage for the employee and family members
- Working hours flexibility — agreed schedule management for family needs (children, elderly, extended parental leave)
- Paid training — technical and language courses during working hours
Company statistics are transparent: 95% permanent contracts, < 5% annual turnover, average tenure over 10 years, and zero accidents in the last 5 years are the concrete result of this philosophy, as well as a competitive asset for customers evaluating supplier solidity in second-party audits.
Working at Micrometal: open positions and applications
Micrometal regularly seeks zamak die casting operators, quality control specialists, mold maintenance technicians, and mechanical engineers for technical-commercial roles. Open positions are published on the contact page and on company LinkedIn channels. The selection process is structured in three steps:
- CV screening — evaluation of relevant technical skills (die casting experience, metallurgical knowledge, mechanical training) and attitude to working in a production team.
- Technical interview — meeting with the department manager and guided tour of the Erbusco (Brescia) plant, for transparent mutual knowledge.
- Trial period — 1-3 months with structured shadowing, joint final evaluation between candidate and company.
For spontaneous applications: write to marco@micrometal.it attaching CV and a short cover letter. All applications receive a response within 30 days.
